A driverless train in the Danish capital

In October 2002 Copenhagen opened the first driverless system in Northern Europe from Vestamager to Nørreport, with the Queen as the first official passenger. The Metro was completed with its phase 3 to the Airport in August 2007. The Metro Company has driven a combined distance of 43.5 Million Kilometers and carried 415.4 Million passengers since the opening.

The Copenhagen Metro quickly became so beloved by passengers that they asked for more driverless Metro in the city. Now we are early two years into the construction of Cityringen the circle line. And it doesn’t stop there because  extensions are planned in the Cityringen.
